A compressor turns the humidity in the air it draws into liquid condensate, and that water corrodes pipework, damages downstream tools and spoils the product. A refrigerant dryer cools the compressed air so the water condenses and can be separated out, then reheats it to room temperature so condensation does not form again inside the pipe. It is the most widely used drying technology, covering more than 95 per cent of industrial applications.
ABAC offers two ranges. COOL is the compact vertical unit, holding a 7 °C pressure dew point with very low energy consumption, a small footprint and a dew point indicator. DRY covers the larger sizes, 20 through 1260, holding a constant dew point under any load condition using a hot gas bypass valve, with a level-controlled condensate drain that discharges moisture without losing compressed air. COOL is the simple, low-maintenance end of the range, built as a vertical unit with an efficient cooling system, a small footprint and easy access for servicing. It carries a dew point indicator so air quality can be checked at a glance, and covers the pneumatic tools, control systems, tyre inflation, painting, packaging and injection moulding duties that make up most industrial demand.

DRY covers the larger and more demanding installations. A hot gas bypass valve controls refrigerant capacity across the whole load range so the dew point stays constant whatever the demand, an air-to-air exchanger recovers heat at low pressure drop, and a level-controlled drain discharges condensate without venting compressed air with it. DRY 20 to 130 can take optional filter supports and a bypass.
