ABAC Air Receivers

ABAC air receivers in painted, galvanized and vitrified vessels, for storage, pressure stability and condensate separation.

An air receiver stores compressed air between the compressor and the point of use. It absorbs peak demand without a pressure drop, damps the pulsation and velocity coming off the compressor, drops the air temperature, and performs a first separation of condensate before the air reaches the pipework. It also stops the compressor short-cycling, which is where a great deal of avoidable wear and energy goes.

ABAC sizes receivers on two rules of thumb: at least a quarter of the free air delivery in cubic metres per minute, or motor power in horsepower multiplied by 30 in litres, so a 10 hp screw compressor wants at least a 300 litre receiver. Vessels come painted for ordinary indoor installations, galvanized where corrosion protection matters, and vitrified for water and steam resistance. Connection kits are available. Send us the compressor rating, the duty pattern and where the vessel will stand, and we will confirm a capacity and a finish.
