Each inverter unit drives one motor from the shared DC bus and carries built-in capacitors that smooth the DC voltage. Units are added per motor, which is what lets one line scale from a few axes to a complete production machine.

An IGBT supply converts three-phase AC to the DC bus and returns braking energy to the network rather than dissipating it, which suits lines that decelerate large inertias repeatedly.
